The Neuro Therapy Centre in Saltney, Chester held an official opening of its new facilities in October. John Brimelow, Chair of the Ursula Keyes Trust, who are the Centre’s landlord and were one of the funders of the project, performed the ribbon cutting to mark the opening supported by fellow trustees Sian Preston and Liz Redmond.
The Centre supports people with a wide range of neurological conditions including Parkinson’s Disease, MS, FND and Fibromyalgia, and their families. The additional building will enable the charity to support more people and support further growth and development of the Centre’s services and support.
John Brimelow, Chair of Trustees at the Ursula Keyes Trust said; “The Neuro Therapy Centre in Saltney needed more space and after a comprehensive fit out, it is great news to see these new facilities complete and in action.”
The additional building houses a large accessible gym, three times the size of the Centre’s original facility, a physio suite for group exercise, and additional therapy rooms for one to one treatments.
The Centre’s original building can be redeveloped to expand its mental health services and its ‘café Neuro’ which is the heart of the Centre.
The Neuro Therapy Centre’s Chair of Trustees, Lorraine Dodd, said “The additional building has been carefully planned in order to optimize the space available, so we can help even more people live their best neuro lives.”
John Brimelow, Chair of Trustees at the Ursula Keyes Trust, added; “The staff and trustees at the Neuro Therapy Centre do amazing work for the community, not just for people with long-term neurological conditions, but with their carers, and families, and the NHS. The Trust is happy to continue to support them and provide a grant to facilitate their plans for expansion. The new extension is a testament to their work and how valued this is. It will be a real asset for the region and a respite for many.”
